Ziguinchor: President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s economic diplomacy highlighted

Former president of the Ajaama Movement and now a member of Kiiraay – The Republican Patriots, Abdoulaye Diémé praised the diplomatic approach of the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye-Diakhar Faye. According to him, the president’s international tour to the United States and the United Arab Emirates embodies intelligent economic diplomacy, capable of restoring Senegal’s image and regaining the trust of bilateral and multilateral partners. In a statement made today, Abdoulaye Diémé emphasized the importance of this openness to the outside world. « We need others to strengthen us, » he stressed. He reiterated that domestic resources are insufficient to finance the major infrastructure projects the country needs. He cited priority infrastructure projects: roads, bridges, highways, hospitals—all projects requiring support from donors. For Abdoulaye Diémé, the economic diplomacy undertaken by the president aims to support the national private sector while protecting vulnerable households, thus creating an environment conducive to investment and sustainable development.
