Mechanical Draftsman – Key Skills

Technical Skills

• Proficient in preparing mechanical drawings for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems
• Ability to read and interpret IFC, shop drawings, and specifications
• Knowledge of UAE authority regulations (DM, DCD, DEWA, ADDC, SEWA)
• Strong understanding of mechanical system layouts, ducting, piping, and equipment
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)

Drafting & Documentation

• Preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material layouts
• Assisting engineers with technical documentation and submittals
• Ability to follow project standards and QA/QC procedures

Coordination Skills

• Coordinate with engineers, site teams, and other disciplines to resolve design clashes
• Communicate effectively to incorporate changes and approvals from consultants

Software & Digital Skills

• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Familiarity with Revit/BIM software (preferred)

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Teamwork and good communication skills
• Problem-solving and adaptability
