Remote-Work Visa Tightened: Higher Income Floor, Double Bank-Statement Period and Mandatory AED 500k Insurance

From April 23, the UAE’s remote-work residence permit requires USD 5,000 monthly income (up from USD 3,500), six months of bank statements and AED 500,000 medical insurance. Embassy-attested employment documents are now compulsory. The tougher criteria aim to attract higher-spending digital nomads but lengthen preparation and cost for employers relocating staff on overseas payrolls.
