Regional tension closes Iranian airspace; UAE carriers scramble to reroute

Iran shut its airspace for nearly five hours on 14-15 January, forcing Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and other carriers to divert flights around the Gulf. While the NOTAM has been lifted, most airlines continue to avoid the corridor, causing longer flight times and potential cost increases for business travel to and from the UAE.
