Police-clearance certificates now compulsory for several nationalities seeking UAE residence visas

Effective mid-April, UAE residence-visa applicants from Sri Lanka, Egypt, Indonesia, Nepal, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and certain other countries must submit attested police-clearance certificates. The extra step adds two-plus weeks and new costs to onboarding timelines, compelling HR and mobility teams to initiate background checks earlier and educate dependants on parallel requirements.
