Our client is now recruiting for a Strategic Assests Consultant

Responsibilities and duties

Operating Model Implementation

The Consultant will take ownership of the new operating model and drive the respective change process to achieve full implementation:

• Review, analyse and understand the details and objectives of the new operating model; analyse key differences and similarities with the existing operating model and governance framework
• Develop a full project plan and agree deliverables with respective stakeholders
• Achieve approval of a delegated and decision authority matrixes (including RAPIDS) and identification of mechanisms and levers for implementation
• Achieve approval of an updated Strategic Assets Department Governance Manual
• Development of Investment Committee and Strategic Assets Committee presentations
• An ongoing gap analysis and high level project plan to achieve full compliance with the new governance framework throughout the portfolio of companies (existing and incoming)
• Development and approval of new Value Creation Plan templates and processes

Value Creation Plans (VCPs)

• Prioritise and gain agreement to the development, approval and implementation of 5 Value Creation Plans utilising the approved framework
• Co-ordinate the work of the sector teams to implement the VCFs

Performance Monitoring

• Work with Strategic Assets, senior management, PMO, HR and Finance on the development of key performance metrics and monitoring mechanisms for the delivery of the VCFs of multiple years.
• Develop the internal mechanisms for ongoing reporting and VCPs
• Assist the Finance Department create and operationalise its independent VCP analysis and reporting

Mergers and Acquisitions

• Work with Strategics Assets, senior management, HR and PMO on the development of the roles and responsibilities of the team and its integration with the work of the sector heads to ensure discrete but integrated workflow on deal sourcing and execution

Various

Other assignments may also be included such as:

• Assistance with the development of a revised Risk Management Framework for Strategic Assets
• Assistance with the development of a new Compliance function
• Define strategic asset investment process and “Go” / “No go” decision rights in IC process for Strategic Assets
• Define best-practices and “house view” for sourcing new deal opportunities
• Define best-practices and “house view” for conducting due diligence process incl. IC/ExCom DD templates and guidelines for sourcing and engaging external advisors
• Develop trend-based framework for evaluating and identifying investable subsectors / themes
• Refine SA BoD member selection criteria process and place heavy weight sector experts on BoDs
• Formalize engagement model for each strategic asset incl. formal meeting cadence and guidelines for informal check-ins
