KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
1. Contribute to the development and implementation of Communication Strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Global Humanitarian Response Centre.
2. Tailor communication plans to promote the Centre’s mission of supporting WFP’s and partners’ humanitarian responses, ensuring alignment with WFP’s broader communication and fundraising strategies.
3. Create compelling communication content that showcases the centre’s critical role in global humanitarian response and its innovative approaches highlighting success stories, partnerships, and impact achieved.
4. Monitor and analyse traditional and social media to inform the development and/or evaluation of communication activities and strategies.
5. Ensure effective dissemination of content through various channels including traditional media, social media platforms, newsletters, and targeted outreach to stakeholders.
6. Contribute to building and maintaining strong relationships with local, regional, and international media outlets to secure accurate and positive coverage of the Centre’s activities.
7. Support with preparation of interviews, talking points when spokesperson needs to respond to media inquiries, interviews, and press briefings, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with organizational goals.
8. Assist in coordinating media visits, press conferences, and other events to showcase the Centre’s initiatives and achievements.
9. Collate communication and media outreach data and contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reports.
10. Any other duty as required.
